Bobby Clark Scholarship Fund The Bobby Clark Scholarship Fund was established in the spring of 1994 as a tribute to Bobby B. Clark, former Dartmouth College Men's Head Coach, to provide financial assistance to those players who otherwise could not afford to participate in Lightning Soccer. Coach Clark was instrumental in the creation of the Lightning Soccer Club during his nine year tenure at the College (1985-1993). His enthusiasm for the game of soccer and his kindness and generosity toward the children of the Upper Valley exemplifies the spirit of giving and love of soccer on which the Lightning program is built.
The Bobby Clark Scholarship Fund receives a financial assistance allotment that is allocated annually by the Board of Directors. Scholarships may be available to players seeking financial assistance in order to participate in the Lightning Soccer Club. A typical award is 50% of the fee. To be considered eligible for a scholarship award, applicants must show a passion for the game of soccer, a willingness to work hard, and a commitment to regular attendance. Applicants are NOT required to submit any financial statements or documents; all applications and inquiries are kept in the strictest confidence.
