Lightning Soccer Club offers goalkeeper specific training for players 11 years of age and older. Paul Campbell is our Director of Goalkeeping. He is assisted by our Goalkeeper Coaches, James Cart and Daniel Sidder.
Director of Goalkeeping
Paul Campbell served as the National Goalkeeper Coach of Jamaica and the National Goalkeeper Coach of The Cayman Islands for 12 years. He was the Goalkeeper Coach for three historical qualifications by Jamaica: to the Senior World Cup in France (1998), to the U-17 World Cup in New Zealand (1999) and to the U-20 World Cup in Argentina (2001).
Paul has a proven approach to the development of young keepers that incorporates a Brazilian approach to rhythm and fitness, from years of working with top Brazilian coaches and goalkeeper coaches, including Paolo Cesar, a former Brazilian National Goalkeeper Coach. Paolo's approach to shot stopping and angles was worked out with Fred Barber, Goalkeeper Coach at Bolton Wanderers. Fred revolutionized dealing with the cross balls from years of association with Peter Mellor, former US National Goalkeeper Coach.
Paul continues to take young keepers and nurture their physical and psychological development, while introducing the best technical and tactical approach to goalkeeping.
James Cart returns to the Upper Valley after six years in New York City. At Dartmouth College, James was the starting goalkeeper and assistant captain for the Men's Club Soccer Team. In NYC, he continued to play on a number of teams within the New York City Soccer Collective. James holds his USSF Level E Coaching License.
Daniel Sidder is the former Director of Goalkeeping for Moscow United Soccer Club. Prior to that, Daniel served as the goalkeeper for the Colorado State Men’s Club team.
