LSC Concludes Spring 2009 League Play with Three Top-place Finishes |
|
Thursday, 02 July 2009 |
|
Three Lightning Soccer Club (LSC)
teams came out on top and four teams finished second in their respective
divisions in the Granite State Soccer League this spring, the best showing by
Lightning Soccer in its 26 year history. Late winter, LSC brought on several new professional coaches to further
enhance the club’s coaching staff, including Charles Mhluari, the former Head
Coach for the Zimbabwe Men’s National Team. “We are thrilled to have such a
diverse and talented coaching staff. The
addition of Charles as Director of Coaching, with his extensive experience on
the international stage at both the youth and professional levels, has been a
tremendous asset for the club this spring” says Kris Graham, President
Lightning Soccer Club.

Charles Mhlauri Announcement |
|
Monday, 30 March 2009 |
Dear Lightning Community,
We are very excited to announce that Charles
Mhlauri will be joining Lightning as our Director of Coaching starting March
11th. Charles will be working closely with Mike Doherty and Kris Graham who will
help him learn the ropes of the Lightning organization.
This is an
incredible opportunity for Lightning. Charles is from Zimbabwe, where for three
years he was the coach of the Zimbabwe National Team, participating in the World
Cup and Africa Cup of Nations Games. He holds the most advanced coaching degree
in Germany and has worked with some of the top clubs there, such as Bayern
Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, training both senior and junior players. In
addition to his work on the national team and in youth programs, he has coached
and produced some of the top players in the English Premier League, like Benjani
Mwaruwari (Manchester City), Peter Ndlovu (Coventry F.C., Sheffield F.C.,
Birmingham City FC). Most recently Charles has been assisting at Wesleyan
University and working in the US at various elite camps.

Spring 2010 Lose-the-Shoes Tournament

The 3rd Annual
Lightning Soccer Club 3 v 3 “Lose‐the‐Shoes” Tournament will be held on Friday,
June 18 at Huntley Meadow in Norwich, 5 – 7:30 pm.
Teams are
invited to play in one of four divisions -- Family/Mixed Age, U10, U13, or U17. The Family/Mixed Age Division is for any group of friends or family with players of various ages. Older Lightning players are encouraged to buddy up with some younger players and make a run for the Family title!
Games are
played on small fields and players play barefoot – which keeps it fun and festive! Only 3 to 5 players needed to make a team. Come up with a fun team name, find some matching colored t-shirts, pinnies or other distinctive gear, and get ready to have some fun.
The grills will be going, the fans will be cheering, and prizes will be flowing
to the winners in each division of the tourney. As either a player or a fan, it
promises to be a very enjoyable way to celebrate the end of the spring soccer
season. Net proceeds going to Lightning’s Bobby Clark Scholarship Fund.
>> Please Pre‐register
your team (up to 5 players) by emailing Laura Rice at
