Tryout Instructions for Returning Players:
(Players who played on a Fall 2011 LSC team)
In the U10-U14 age groups our goal is to keep current teams together for the spring season, so that they can build on the foundation of the fall season. There could be some movement of players up or down between teams in order to maximize player and team development. Coaches are going to make recommendations for players to move up, down, or stay with their team, based on a player's season-long performance. Most players will return to their current team for the spring season. For tryouts we will have one team in each age group (identified below) that will serve as the "tryout team" against which all new and moving players can be measured. If you aren't on the "tryout team" you do NOT need to attend tryouts. However, if you wish to considered to be moved up and your coach has not discussed it with you, please contact him or her about it.

All returning players:  Please follow the instructions in the “Next Steps” section.

Tryout Instructions for New Players:
(Players who did NOT play on a Fall 2011 LSC team. Note, you are a New Player even if you played on a team in Spring 2011 or prior.)
Follow the “Next Steps” instructions below. Remember to bring all paperwork and payment to tryouts and turn it in at the Registration table.

When to arrive at tryouts:
Please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes PRIOR to the posted session times so players have adequate time to move through registration check-in and get prepared, dressed, etc.

What to wear to tryouts:

Current fall 2011 players:  Please wear your white game jersey.

New players:  You will receive a gray LSC t-shirt.

All:  Please come with appropriate layers (that can be worn under your numbered shirts) and if appropriate, gloves and hats, sweat pants, etc. All players should wear cleats, shin guards and bring plenty of water.

Other tryout info:
In addition to collecting paperwork & tryout payments, we will also be doing uniform sizing for new players and offering Lightning SC Store items for purchase. No new uniform items will be issued in the spring for returning players, but shorts, game jerseys or socks can be ordered at tryouts.

Next Steps:

Returning players:       

1. Fill out the online Returning Player Team RSVP Form in advance of tryouts.
2. Submit your $20 Returning Player Registration Fee -- Mail in, drop off at LSC office in Norwich, or give to your Team Manager (but not the coach!!), or bring to tryouts if you are attending.

New players:

1. Fill out the online New Player Tryout Form in advance of tryouts.
2. Bring all required paperwork and payment to tryouts:

• USYSA Form
• Copy of birth certificate
• 1” x 1” color photo (required for player card)
  (Please write player's name and age group on back of photo)
  
• $25 New Player Registration Fee
  (Please write player's name and age group on memo line of check)

>> If you are late in sending in the Spring registration fee and/or all of the required paperwork, PLEASE mail it to us ASAP or bring it by the LSC office in Norwich. If the door is locked, just slide it under our office door (making sure that the player's name and age group are both on the back of their photo and on the memo line of your check.)

Announcing Rosters:
For teams with Tryouts from November 1st - 4th, we plan to announce spring rosters by November 15th.
