The Fall Season Is Here! 🍂⚽

The Fall 2026 season is officially underway, and we’re excited to see Lightning teams back on the field! This fall, we have 8 teams competing in the NECSL and 11 teams competing in the NHSL.

With approximately 250 registered players, our teams will take part in an incredible 142 league games this fall.

Lightning continues to grow every year, and that growth is made possible by the players, families, coaches, sponsors, and supporters who make up our club. We’re incredibly grateful to have you as part of the Lightning community.

⚡️ What a Lightning Day! ⚡️

A huge thank you to our Lightning community for coming out to Burnham Field and making Saturday such a special day of soccer!

We got to cheer on Dartmouth Women’s Soccer as they took down Penn 4–0, followed by an exciting 1–0 win for Dartmouth Men’s Soccer over Princeton. 🏆

But Lightning Day was about more than the results. It was about bringing our players and families together, giving our young Lightning players the chance to walk onto the field alongside the college players, watch the games, meet the athletes, and experience college soccer up close.

Seeing so many Lightning jerseys in the stands and on the field made the day truly special. Thank you to everyone who came out, supported Dartmouth Soccer, and helped make Lightning Day such a success.

This summer, Lightning offered a wide variety of camps designed to help players develop different aspects of their game, from technical skills to finishing, Fitness, small-sided play, and more.

Our Full Day Camp was a particular highlight, welcoming an incredible 150 players throughout the first week of August! The success of the camp has definitely encouraged us to explore expanding this format and offering even more opportunities like it next summer.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this summer. We loved seeing so many players back on the field and working to become better players.

Lines in Light

This summer, we started a new photo series: Lines in Light.

Shot on a Zeiss Ikon Contaflex film camera, each image is captured in black and white, bringing a raw, timeless feel to the moments happening on and around the field.

No polished filters. No perfect frames. Just film, light, movement, and the game as it happens.

Player’s Perspective

We also kicked off a new video series: Player’s Perspective.

What does a game look like from the player’s point of view? The runs they make, the teammates they interact with, the decisions happening in real time, and all the little moments you might miss from the sideline.

Through this series, we’re putting you in the middle of the action and giving you a glimpse of soccer from the player’s perspective.

Jane LeMasurier

1. Tell us a little about your playing career. What brought you to soccer?

I grew up in Virginia where I played soccer during my youth. Soccer was always the sport I felt most passionate about, in part because I loved how accessible it was. I could play soccer anywhere and didn’t need much beyond a ball. It was during my high school years that the iconic ‘99ers won the Women’s World Cup and forever changed the game. They became the athletic icons who inspired me as a young female player to go out and play all the time!

2. What is your favorite memory from playing soccer as a youth player?

The post-game snacks that a friend's mom brought, of course!!! What more should we remember from youth sports besides snacks and friends?!

3. What inspired you to start coaching?

I started coaching soccer while I was in graduate school. I got hooked and have been coaching ever since! I genuinely enjoy helping players pursue goals, whether those goals are modest or lofty. I love creating on-field environments where players (especially girls) feel encouraged to take risks and be bold.

I also really enjoy the game of coaching. Every season challenges me to revisit my own tactics and ideas, think critically about how I’m teaching the game, and find new ways to help players make technical improvements and connect the tactical dots. Some of my most memorable mentors have been coaches. I think positive youth coaching is super important because of the lasting impact coaches can have on a young person. 

4. What is one thing you hope your players take away from playing for Lightning?

I hope my Lightning players come to understand that our athletic character is shaped by our ability to keep moving forward through setbacks, both big and small. I want them to be resilient, but also take risks, make mistakes, and keep going. I also hope they learn to love the competition itself. I want them to appreciate their opponents and understand that having someone on the other side who challenges us is what gives us an opportunity to grow.

5. What is your favorite soccer team?

Hands-down, it’s Vermont Green FC! My family and I find both the Men’s and Women’s teams to be highly inspiring. We follow them every summer and try to attend any games we can. Watching a Vermont Green game under the lights at Virtue Field is one of our favorite summer activities. The team embodies the greater Vermont ethos and has more than soccer as their mission, which gives them appeal beyond the pitch. Their ability to come together and combine with such unity in a short amount of time is impressive. Up the Green!
