Holiday Academy Program

Oct 20th - Nov 29th- Ages U5 to U11

‍The Holiday Academy Program is open to both current Academy players and new players. As always, there are no tryouts for the Academy. The program is purely developmental and designed to welcome as many players as possible, from U5 through U11, who are looking to develop their skills, build confidence, and prepare for the transition to competitive soccer. ‍

How it Works - Lightning Soccer is offering professional soccer development to enthusiastic soccer players of all ages.  We train on a state-of-the-art turf field at the CCBA.  Sasa Cirovic, our Director of Coaching, and Lucas Richardson, our Academy Director, will design and lead the sessions.

Lightning Academy uses the pool training concept to ensure your player is consistently in a high-quality training environment. Pool training shifts the focus away from team development and prioritizes individual player development. During pool sessions, academy players will be grouped together with players who have similar skill levels with the understanding that players develop at different stages. 

Increased competition, an improved training environment, and accelerated player development are all by-products of the pool training. 

Each week we’ll focus on a different theme/topic of the game.

Where - The Holiday program has become our most popular Academy session. We’re expecting a large group again this winter so, we will be using the Sports Park at the CCBA, as well as the gym in the CCBA. All training sessions during the final three weeks of the Club Holiday program will take place in the CCBA gym.

What to Wear – All players should wear soccer appropriate athletic clothing, shin guards, and cleats to each session. Indoor soccer shoes or sneakers are required for every session in case we have to go into the gym due to weather. Some sessions will be chilly, so plan to have access to some tight-fitting long-sleeved gear, a hat, and gloves. Everyone who has registered 15 days prior to the start of the Academy will receive a hat!

What to Bring–All players should bring a labeled water bottle to each session. LSC will provide a ball at training.
